Key witnesses in the inquest into the death of singer Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, might soon be subpoenaed due to their failure to attend court. This decision follows a request by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, for judicial intervention to ensure these individuals appear.

Magistrate T. A. Sotobi has approved an application for substituted service, permitting witness summons to be served via reputable national newspapers and social media.

The witnesses include Azeez Fashola (Naira Marley), Samson Eletu (Sam Larry), Mohbad’s sister-in-law Karimot Ogunbayo, his lawyer Oluwasanmi Falade, nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe (who attended to Mohbad before his death), and driver Fidelis Esanbor (who transported Mohbad to the hospital).

Taiwo Odumosu, head of the Aloba family’s legal team, reported that Boluwatife Adeyemo (Darosha) was the only key witness present in court. Odumosu stated that if the remaining witnesses do not appear for the next session, the magistrate may issue subpoenas to compel their attendance.

The magistrate has given one final opportunity for the witnesses to appear before potentially issuing subpoenas.
