Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed his openness to collaborating with other politicians, including former NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for the 2027 elections. Obi emphasized that any collaboration must focus on improving the lives of citizens rather than mere political gains.
In an interview with News Central, Obi stated, “I’m ready to collaborate with anyone interested in lifting people out of poverty. Collaboration must not be for state capture or just to win elections. It must be about addressing critical issues such as education and poverty alleviation.”
Regarding the possibility of serving as vice president, Obi mentioned he is willing to accept such a role if he believes someone else is more capable of leading. He clarified, “I am not desperate to be the Nigerian president. My priority is to see Nigeria function effectively. If someone else can do the job better, I am open to supporting them in any capacity.”
Obi also reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, indicating he has no plans to leave the party and remains focused on collaborative efforts aimed at national progress.
