The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started uploading results from the September 21, 2024, Edo State governorship election onto its Result Viewing Portal (IReV). As of 4:12 PM, 50.67% of the results—2,439 out of 4,519 polling units—had been uploaded.

Edo Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, confirmed that election results will be transmitted electronically, with the only potential obstacle being poor network connectivity. INEC has deployed 4,622 Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BVAS) across the state’s polling units, with 660 backups prepared to ensure smooth operation.

Onuoha emphasized that the BVAS will be used to accredit voters and determine turnout before results are counted and uploaded to the IReV portal, reaffirming INEC’s commitment to delivering a transparent and credible election.
