ndo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has expressed his support for Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, following his confirmation as the winner of the Edo State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, Aiyedatiwa congratulated Okpebholo and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, on their victory in the September 21 election. Aiyedatiwa, who served as the Chairman of the APC’s Election Planning and Strategy Committee for the Edo election, thanked the people of Edo State for their trust in the APC to govern.
“I want to congratulate our party, the APC, Senator Okpebholo, and Hon. Idahosa on the well-deserved victory,” Aiyedatiwa stated. He emphasized the importance of the election, noting, “I join millions of our party faithful to give glory to God for granting us a peaceful victory to reclaim Edo back into the fold of the progressives.”
Aiyedatiwa also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, which he credited for ensuring a free and fair election. He extended his commendation to the party’s leadership, particularly Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, and the campaign committees for their efforts.
He expressed confidence in Okpebholo’s vision for governance, anticipating that his administration will implement progressive policies to positively impact the lives of Edo residents. Aiyedatiwa further acknowledged the peaceful conduct of the people of Edo throughout the election process.
