The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to answer for alleged anti-party activities. The PDP disciplinary committee has requested Wike’s presence to address the matter.

Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, announced on Monday that Wike has been formally invited to appear before the committee. Abdullahi criticized Wike’s recent comments about “putting fire in their states” regarding PDP governors, calling the remarks unacceptable and disappointing.

The PDP’s action comes shortly after Wike publicly expressed his satisfaction with his role under President Bola Tinubu, despite ongoing criticism and speculation about his appointment. During the PDP Congress in Rivers State, Wike also made a provocative statement advising those unhappy with his position to “hug the transformer.”

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and the sole opposition member in Tinubu’s cabinet, is now facing scrutiny from his party for his outspoken remarks.
