The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has voiced strong opposition to the recent fuel price increase in Nigeria, implemented by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Prices have jumped from ₦568-₦617 to ₦855-₦897 per litre, with independent marketers selling fuel as high as ₦1,200 per litre.

In a statement, CNG National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, criticized the hike, calling it a severe blow to citizens already burdened by inflation, unemployment, and insecurity. CNG urged the government to reconsider the policy, warning of its impact on poverty and national stability.
