The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of Prophet Muhammad. This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Friday.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim community in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to use the occasion to pray for peace and national prosperity. He also called on Nigerians to embrace patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period.
