The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, announced that Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) would be available across Nigeria by the weekend. This follows a high-level meeting involving Vice President Kashim Shettima, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) CEO Mele Kyari, and other key officials at the Presidential Villa.
Lokpobiri assured Nigerians that efforts were being made to stabilize fuel supply and urged citizens to avoid panic buying. He emphasized that while prices might vary by location, they are expected to stabilize as product availability increases. Regulatory bodies are also working to streamline depot operations and clear vessels promptly to ensure a steady fuel supply.
