In a distressing incident, the wife and two daughters of Muhammed Bashir, a Kogi-based journalist with the Nigeria Telegraph, were kidnapped on Thursday in Kaduna State. They were among ten family members abducted by suspected kidnappers in a suburb of Kaduna.

Bashir, who disclosed the incident to colleagues in a brief statement, revealed that his family had traveled to Kaduna for a holiday when the abduction occurred. He has since contacted the police and the Department of State Services, who have assured him that efforts are underway to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.

In a separate incident, at least 30 people were killed in an attack on Ayati village in Benue State’s Ukum Local Government Area. The assault, carried out by local bandits and suspected armed herdsmen, took place on Thursday night, resulting in significant casualties.
