Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has dismissed threats of violence during the ongoing Edo State election, calling out Abuja-based politicians for plotting chaos. Speaking after casting his vote on September 21, 2024, Oshiomhole hinted at an unnamed national chairman based in Abuja who allegedly threatened violence during the election.

Despite these threats, Oshiomhole reported that the election process has remained peaceful across the state. He shared that voters from various parts of Edo called to confirm the calmness of the voting environment.

“A few people have called me, saying they’ve started voting peacefully. I’m optimistic the same will happen across the state,” Oshiomhole stated before voting at Iyamoh Primary School, Ward 10, PU1 in Etsako West LGA.

Oshiomhole mocked those predicting violence, labeling them as being “in a fool’s paradise.”
