Kaduna State remained calm on October 1, 2024, as residents largely ignored the planned #October1Fearless protest. Despite initial concerns, businesses in Kaduna metropolis and surrounding areas continued to operate as usual, with shops in the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Central Market open for business.

While some residents observed the Independence Day holiday quietly, many carried on with their daily routines. Security personnel, including the police, civil defense, and DSS, were stationed at key locations across the state as a precaution.

The Coalition of Concerned Citizens of Kaduna State distanced itself from the protest, encouraging residents to engage in constructive dialogue and support government initiatives like skill acquisition programs. The #October1Fearless protest, organized to address issues like economic inequality and political repression, did not gain traction in Kaduna.
