Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has shared why he steers clear of social media platforms, stating his preference for keeping his phone limited to basic calls and messages. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Guardiola said, “I don’t have WhatsApp, I don’t like emails, and I avoid all that kind of stuff. Just my phone and messages, that’s it. I don’t want to be bothered.”
Despite his avoidance of social media, Guardiola remains one of football’s most successful managers, recently becoming the second coach to win a treble in English football, following Sir Alex Ferguson’s achievement in 1999. Additionally, Guardiola made history by leading Manchester City to four consecutive Premier League titles by the 2023-2024 season.
Commenting on the recent remarks by La Liga president Javier Tebas—who claimed that Premier League clubs favor sanctions against Manchester City—Guardiola agreed, saying, “For the fact that all the Premier League teams want us to be sanctioned, that is for sure.” He urged Tebas and others to wait for the independent panel’s decision on the 115 charges against City.
