Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of individuals inciting genocidal threats against the Igbo community in Lagos and other South-West states. This follows the emergence of a hashtag on social media urging Igbos to leave these regions.

In his statement, Obi condemned the threats as deeply troubling and contrary to the constitutional rights of Nigerians to live and work anywhere in the country. He urged leaders to take swift action to address and curb such divisive rhetoric.

Obi stressed the importance of national unity and tolerance, calling on all Nigerians to reject these harmful messages and work together to foster understanding and harmony. He emphasized that addressing these threats is crucial for maintaining national security and unity.
