Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has taken a bold step in distancing himself from his former club Napoli by removing all references to the Italian team from his X (formerly Twitter) profile. This move comes shortly after Galatasaray officially announced the Nigerian star as their new player on September 4, 2024.

Osimhen, who is contracted with Napoli until 2027, joined the Turkish side on a season-long loan after a potential transfer to Chelsea fell through due to unsatisfactory wage offers. Despite his loan move, this unexpected profile update has sparked speculation about his future with Napoli.

In response to a fan request, Osimhen updated his bio to reflect his new role as a Galatasaray player and member of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. He also changed his profile picture to one of him in a Galatasaray jersey, while his banner image now shows him wearing the number 45, alongside his daughter.

This public gesture follows a period of tension between Osimhen and Napoli. Despite helping the Italian club secure the Scudetto last season, Osimhen’s desire to leave led to his exclusion from Napoli’s pre-season and early Serie A matches.

Osimhen is expected to make his debut for Galatasaray on September 15 in a Turkish Super Lig match against Rizespor. Fans are eagerly anticipating his first appearance, curious to see how his fresh start will unfold.
