The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a scheduled power shutdown at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The temporary shutdown will affect International Terminal 2 and is planned to take place between 1:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. This measure is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to enhance operations at the terminal.

In a statement released by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, the authority emphasized that the shutdown has been carefully planned to minimize disruptions to flight operations and passenger processing. To accommodate affected flights, Royal Air Maroc will temporarily shift its check-in and arrival procedures to International Terminal 1 during the maintenance period.

Passengers scheduled to travel during these hours are encouraged to cooperate with airport staff and adhere to any additional instructions provided. FAAN has assured continuous passenger movement throughout the maintenance and regrets any inconvenience caused.

“Airlines, security agencies, and concessionaires will be notified accordingly,” the statement noted, reaffirming the priority of safety and security for all airport users.
