Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, declared that his administration will not yield to blackmail, reaffirming his dedication to delivering effective governance and advancing the state’s development. Speaking during Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Parade in Port Harcourt, Fubara emphasized his focus on peace, governance, and economic progress.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and reflected on Nigeria’s journey since independence. He acknowledged past leaders’ efforts but lamented the nation’s ongoing struggles with insecurity and economic hardship. Fubara called for unity, peace, and justice, urging Nigerians to collaborate with the federal government to overcome corruption, insecurity, and other challenges.
Fubara also highlighted key infrastructure projects in Rivers State and commended the security forces for their role in maintaining peace, pledging continued support for their efforts.
