Sen. Emma Nwaka, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, has officially resigned from the party. His decision was announced on Thursday through a resignation letter titled “Time for me to quit.”

In his letter, Nwaka expressed that his departure was the result of thoughtful reflection on his political journey. He acknowledged his time with the PDP, noting his role in steering the Abia State Chapter through a period of stability and success, including back-to-back governorship victories and control over the State House of Assembly and National Assembly seats.

Nwaka stated that while he has not attended PDP functions for some time and has chosen to remain non-partisan, he remains open to future political alignments if necessary. He emphasized that his resignation was not a reflection of any dissatisfaction with the party but rather a personal decision to chart a new path.

The PDP has thanked Nwaka for his significant contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors. Abraham Amah, Head of the Abia PDP Media Team, remarked that resigning is a personal choice and is not obligatory, but the party appreciates Nwaka’s past efforts and respects his decision.
