A two-storey building collapsed on Monday morning in the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State, sparking widespread panic as residents scrambled for safety. According to Nigeria Times News the incident caused chaos in the neighborhood, with many people seen fleeing the area as the structure crumbled.

In a video shared on social media, local residents were seen running away from the collapsing building. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed that their response team had been dispatched to the scene.

Nosa Okunbor, Head of the Public Affairs Unit for LASEMA, said that emergency respondents were already on-site, stating, “People are there right now; I will get back to you.” At the time of this report, no casualties have been confirmed.

In a related tragic event, two people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday near the Second Rainbow Bus Stop along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, the agency responded quickly to the accident reported at 5:52 PM. The crash involved multiple vehicles, including a MAN truck carrying groundnut oil and two commercial buses. The truck reportedly lost control after a mechanical failure, leading to the fatal collision.

Two adult males were pronounced dead on the scene, while several others received medical attention from LASAMBUS responders. The incident led to significant damage to all vehicles involved.

Emergency teams worked swiftly to clear the scene and restore order.
