The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has apprehended 130 individuals, including 113 foreign nationals from China and Malaysia, in connection with cybercrime and hacking activities. This was confirmed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday.

The operation, led by Assistant Inspector-General of Police Benneth Igweh, took place at the Next Cash and Carry area in Jahi, Abuja. During the raid, officers seized computers and advanced equipment suspected to be used for illegal online activities that could pose threats to national security.

According to the statement, “The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 130 suspects comprising 113 foreign nationals and 17 Nigerians for alleged involvement in high-level cybercrimes and hacking.”

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a thorough investigation into potential security risks associated with the suspects’ activities. Upon completion of the investigation, the individuals will face charges in court.
