The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has approved the promotion of 49 senior officers in the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC). This includes the elevation of 21 Corps Commanders to Assistant Corps Marshal and 11 Deputy Corps Commanders to Corps Commanders. The promotion was announced in a statement by Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide on September 20, 2024.
Akume praised the transparency of the process and urged the officers to demonstrate greater commitment to the FRSC’s vision of reducing road accidents and ensuring safer roads. He emphasized that the promotions align with President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s recognition of excellence and hard work under the Hope Agenda.
