A tragic incident unfolded in north-east Thailand as a Thai para-athlete, Chaturong Suksuk, shot his bride, her mother, and sister dead before taking his own life on their wedding day. The 29-year-old former soldier married 44-year-old Kanchana Pachunthuek on Saturday. Chaturong left the wedding unexpectedly, returned with a gun, and opened fire, fatally shooting his wife and two family members.
- Casualties and Injuries: Chaturong’s stray bullets also hit two guests, both of whom were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, one of them succumbed to their injuries. The police reported that Chaturong was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Some reports suggest that the couple had an argument during the party, possibly related to Chaturong’s feelings of insecurity about the age gap between him and Kanchana.

Chaturong was a successful para-athlete who had won a silver medal in swimming at the 2022 Asean Para Games in Indonesia. He was expected to compete in the World Abilitysport Games in Thailand the following month.
